Suzuki plans to unveil the European version of its popular Swift Sport Mini-fighter during the upcoming Paris motor show, scheduled for September 28 to October 15. The three-door hatch, designed with BMW's Mini in mind, will go on sale this fall.
The vehicles, WorldCarFans.com reports, will be assembled in Hungary at Magyar Suzuki Corporation.
If the European specs have anything to do with the Japanese model, then we'll see a vehicle motivated by a four-cylinder twin-cam engine with 16 valves, capable to produce up to 125 horsepower. That is not even close to Mini Cooper S's 175 hp, but is good enough to kick regular Cooper's ass, especially taking into account the fact, that the Swift Sport is considerably lighter than the Mini.
There is no info about the price but do expect some $15,000 for a basic trim.

Suzuki X-Head Concept

By Ben Stewart
Japanese supercars are cool, but the X-Head might end up being our favorite vehicle at Tokyo. This is one mean-looking little truck. It’s said to evoke the rough-road toughness of the Jimny (the Samurai to us) and the Grand Vitara but with the load-hauling ability of the Carry (a Japanese mini-pickup). Suzuki says this concept car can be configured for camping, rescue operations or even “stylish urban mobility.” We’re not exactly sure what that last one means, but we are sure Suzuki should build this trucklet and bring it to the States.
