Aston Martin Vanquish S gets new interior from Project Kahn

British tuning specialist Project Kahn now offers a customized leather interior for the Aston Martin Vanquish S sports car. Made of red and black perforated Nappa leather and Alcantara with contrasting white cording, the new upholstery looks much more interesting than the original -rather dull- job.


The bespoke interior trim includes new upholstery for the centre console, dashboard, doors, front and back seats, steering wheel, and diamond-shaped roof lining. Too bad they didn't do anything about the cheapo-looking plastic buttons on the center console.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 unveiled in Frankfurt

The new Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 is based on the standard V8 Vantage and was created to celebrate Aston Martin's successful exploits at the Nürburgring race track.


The Aston Martin V8 Vantage N400 comes equipped with a more powerful 4.3-liter V8 engine producing up to 400hp and 310 lb-ft (420Nm) of torque.

Just like it has to be, the cars will be delivered with a "sports pack" installed, including lightweight graphite-finished aluminum wheels, up-rated springs and dampers and a new rear anti-roll bar.


Exterior enhancements include new side sill design, new hood and side strake meshes, clear rear lamp lenses and a bright finish corporate grille.

Comfort features include Bluetooth connectivity, satellite navigation system and a pair of heated seats.

Frankfurt Preview: Aston Martin DB9 LM and V8 Vantage N400

Aston Martin is not only showing the DBS for the first time in Europe at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week but will also showcase two new special editions – the Aston Martin DB9 LM and the V8 Vantage N400. Both special editions draw inspiration from the company's recent achievements at Le Mans and the Nϋrburgring 24-hour races. The V8 Vantage N400 commemorates Aston Martin’s achievements at the Nϋrburgring where the company enjoyed success in the gruelling ADAC 24-hour race with the V8 Vantage N24 production race car. Aston Martin develops and tests all of its road cars extensively on the Nϋrburgring Nordschleife circuit and the Vantage N400 recently broke the eight minute benchmark around the legendary 14-mile circuit.

The Vantage N400 includes a number of technical improvements as well as enhancements to the car’s standard range of renowned colour and trim specifications. These include a power upgrade to Aston Martin’s 4.3 litre V8 engine, lifting peak power to 400bhp and peak torque to 420Nm. The car also comes equipped with a new Sports Pack which offers subtly different driving dynamics tailored to enthusiasts who seek even more responsive handling. The Sports Pack comprises a unique lightweight graphite-finished aluminium wheel with diamond turning, up-rated springs and dampers and a new rear anti-roll bar (for the Coupe). The Vantage N400 also includes a number of exterior design changes, including a revised side sill design, Magnum Silver bonnet and side strake meshes, clear rear lamp lenses and a bright finish grille.

Interior enhancements include perforated black leather seats, micro-spin alloy facia trim and a unique numbered sill plaque. The Vantage N400 will be available in three new exterior colours; Bergwerk Black, Lightning Silver or Karussell Orange, with either Sportshift automated manual or conventional manual transmission and in either Coupe or Roadster forms. Additionally, the Vantage N400 comes equipped with a range of normally optional equipment, including Satellite Navigation, 700W Aston Martin Premium Audio System, Bluetooth telephone preparation, HID headlamps, cruise control and memory/heated seats.

The DB9 LM celebrates Aston Martin’s GT1 class victory in the Le Mans 24-hour endurance classic in June with the DBR9 – a race car derived from the DB9.

This special edition car, available in Coupe form only with Touchtronic transmission, includes a unique Sarthe Silver exterior paint finish, meshes and rear crossbar finished in Magnum Silver and red brake callipers. Inside, the DB9 LM is fitted with handcrafted black leather finish, perforated leather inserts, unique ‘Tertre Rouge’ facia trim and numbered sill plaque. The car is also equipped with the normally optional DB9 Sports Pack as standard, with colour keyed and diamond turned alloy wheels.

Pricing details for both cars will be confirmed at the Frankfurt motor show.

Aston Martin reveals James Bond's DBS for "CASINO ROYALE"

Aston Martin has unveiled the new DBS which will be driven by James Bond, the legendary British secret agent, in the next 007 film, “CASINO ROYALE”, to be produced by Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for EON Productions.

In true Bond style, specific details of the new DBS remain top secret, although Aston Martin Design Director, Marek Reichman, said: “This car encapsulates a link between our elegant DB9 road car and the powerful DBR9 race car. It signals an evolutionary development of Aston Martin’s world renowned style and elegance.

“While hinting at our future design direction, the DBS also has very clear links with our heritage – it is instantly recognisable as an Aston Martin.”

Aston Martin Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Ulrich Bez added: “The DBS continues our proud and lengthy association with James Bond.

“The DBS is not of the understated elegance of a DB9, nor the youthful agility of the V8 Vantage. It is explosive power in a black tie and has its own unique character which will equal that of James Bond.”

Starring Daniel Craig as James Bond, “CASINO ROYALE” is scheduled for release in November, 2006.

New vehicles for 2008

Three words best describe the 2008 car model year — electronics, power and safety. What’s coming from the each of the major automakers for 2008? Here's a summary of the models on offer.

Sold off by Ford in March for nearly $1 billion (and now owned by private investors including Kuwaitis) ultra-luxury carmaker Aston Martin launches the DBS for 2008. The sleek, lightweight, two-passenger coupe promises to be the quickest Aston Martin production car ever with a 0-to-60-mph time around a mere 4.3 seconds. The DBS chassis is weight-saving aluminum, and power comes from a 510-horsepower, 6-liter V-12 with quad overhead cam shafts. Top speed is 191 mph.

Only some 300 DBS cars will be built annually in Great Britain, so the DBS will be a most exclusive ride. The starting price tag is expected to be around $265,000.
Meantime, Aston's long-running Vanquish is ending production, and Aston fans are waiting for the coming launch of the four-door Rapide.
